Zambuni Kick off the Fishing Season on the River Test

Last week we were lucky enough to enjoy a day’s fishing on the River Test, to kick off the season and meet up with friends old and new. The sun showed up, so did the 40mph wind, and although the chalky water wasn’t completely clear, we all shared successes and had a refreshing day of it.

There’s nothing like bringing people together who share the same passions. People came from far and wide to celebrate this and fish together.

What’s more is, we didn’t blank! We had plenty of fish on the line despite the conditions which made the day even more of a success.

Lunch on the riverbank was an absolute highlight, cooked with so much talent and style by Tbone Chops . Not only did he feed us fantastically, but he also taught us about the truly sustainable, single species hardwood charcoal that is Whittle and Flame Charcoal.

Made from wood that comes from sustainably forested coppice woodlands, the engineering-minded team have developed a unique system to create charcoal that involves smokeless distillation.

What they are doing is a huge step forward for the sector, and we can verify that the charcoal beautifully enhanced the flavours, and whole experience, of our riverside lunch! Check them out.

Overall, the Zambuni Team had a brilliant start to the fishing season, with hope for many more days like this to come in 2022…
